Today is the day of Thadinggyut, today is the day of the festival of light, the celebration of the light of love, the celebration of the light of freedom, the celebration of the light of hope and peace. This special festival of light, Thadinggyut is a special occasion for the people of Myanmar. It is the day for us to express the light of love to our people, the light of love to our nation of Myanmar, and that is exactly what the brave and courageous people of Myanmar are doing every day in the face of the genocidal military junta who have cruelly stolen the light of our free and fair election, our freedom, democracy, our dreams and our future by bringing the darkness of death and destruction to the people and Nation of Myanmar.
Everyday, the military junta brings the darkness of death and destruction upon us but we, the people of Myanmar, bring the light of hope and peace.
Everyday, they bring the darkness of oppression and opposition but the people bring the light of life and living.
Everyday, they bring the darkness of terror and nightmares but the people bring peace and prosperity.
Everyday they bring pain and suffering but the people bring relief and healing.
Everyday, they bring tyranny, inhumanity and brutality but the people bring freedom, humanity and love.
Everyday, they bring hopelessness and helplessness but the people bring hopefulness and helpfulness.
Everyday, they bring the darkness but the people bring the light.
My dear compatriots, heroes, and fellow citizens, this revolution is all about returning the light of freedom to the future federal democratic Union of Myanmar where the light of liberty will replace the darkness of terror, the light of inclusive federal democracy will replace the darkness of brutal military dictatorship, the light of love will replace the darkness of hatred, the light of life will replace the darkness of death, the light of hope will replace the darkness of hopelessness, the light of prosperity will replace the darkness of poverty, the light of a federal democratic constitution and the rule of law will replace the darkness of self-serving military rule and their reign of terror against the people of Myanmar.
The darker it grows on today’s Thadinggyut, the brighter the light will shine on Thadingyut tomorrow. The light of Thadingyut will surely prevail over the darkness.
From the bottom of my heart, once again I wish you all a Happy and Prosperous Festival of light, Thadingyut.
Sincerely,
H.E. Dr. Sasa
