On this Sweet December, our profound connection with Sweet Jesus resonates strongly. Life, originally designed to be sweet by its Creator, has unfortunately turned bitter due to the influence of evil. Sweetness can be restored through Sweet Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, who, as the Son of God, stoops to be our friend and serves sinners, embodying the humility of a King of Kings.
Jesus declared us to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth. When life loses its sweetness, it becomes bitter and loses its purpose. Just as salt, without its saltiness, is useless, life, without its sweetness, becomes dark and purposeless. This parallels the struggle of the people of Myanmar against the darkness and brutality of the genocidal military dictatorship, as they fight for justice, freedom, peace, and prosperity.
Centuries of prophecy anticipated the birth of the Messiah, Emmanuel, – God is with us – the Prince of Peace, and the Counsellor guiding us throughout life. From His birth, Jesus became was refugee, mirroring the plight of millions in Myanmar today. Yet, this is but a temporary phase. Our homes, villages, towns, and cities have been pounded to ash by the brutal jet fighter attacks. Still, we shall rebuild from the ashes of destruction. Thousands of our innocent people have been killed, and many remain unjustly imprisoned, including the democratically elected leaders of Myanmar. But victory is coming; the future of Myanmar holds glory — a thriving nation where peace and prosperity reign, the sweetness of life returns, and the darkness of tyranny is defeated. An inclusive federal democracy will not only illuminate Myanmar but also the entire region and the world.
May the next Sweet December be free from the bitterness of a brutal military junta, and may our people bask in the sweetness of life through Jesus, making December truly sweet. Happy Sweet December!
Sincerely,
Dr. Sasa
